Essays

Some of my posts develop over time and are long enough to deserve their own pages. Here is a list:

  • State of Faith Evangelicals let me down big time; consequently I’ve been reworking my faith over almost a decade. These are the developing details
  • What’s Saving My Faith? An abbreviated version of my State of Faith essay, given as a sermon(!?) on 12/31/2023.
  • Ten Years Later In late 2014 and early 2015, I suffered a mental health crash that landed me in a locked psych unit for nine days. My recovery took over two years. This reflection on that experience is a work in progress.
  • Advent & Incarnation Advent has fascinated me for a long time because it is when we think most about the incarnation. Well, when I think the most about the incarnation. No surprise, I have a strong philosophical and theological bent, and the incarnation raises all sorts of philosophical and theological issues. It is also intensely practical and should change the way we live and see the world.
